1. Why is my Si-Board warped?
You’re not looking at warped wood and metal. And you don’t need to get your eyes checked. We make Original model Si-Boards with a rocker for a couple reasons. Having the ends of the board curved upward makes the ride a whole lot more fun. The ride is a little faster and it kicks you from end to end better. Your hips are a ball and socket joint and your legs swing in an arc. Riding a board that simulates the arc feels natural. Having the rail and wood curved adds a lot of strength to the board too. We have yet to put a weight limit on our Original models!
2. What's with the weight limit?
We put a weight limit on the Starter Boards and the Ultimate Fitness Board because they do not have a steel rail to reinforce the board top. Due to the small surface area of the ball or Half-Ball against the board top, the board will flex slightly compared to having two balls or two Half-Balls under the board. The heavier the user the more flex in the wood- it’s just nature. The most stable situation is to have the pivot point directly under your foot- but we all know that isn’t realistic and defeats the purpose of a Si-Board. If you are past the weight limit we can custom make a thicker board top or we suggest purchasing the Original model.
3. Where are Si-Boards made?
All Si-Board products are made in the United States. We assemble our boards in Southern California- Huntington Beach to be exact, with the sun shining on our faces and the ocean within reach. Our balls are made in the USA! All of our suppliers for our materials are companies in the United States and as local as possible. Keeping everything local helps with quality control and cuts our shipping costs so we can give you lower prices. We’re doing our small part to help the US economy and help Uncle Frank feed his kids.
4. Why do Si-Boards seem pricey?
We’ve come out with an economical line of Starter Boards at half the price of our Original models. We now have a large variety for you to choose from. We put the same quality and pride into our Starter models so rest assured you are making a great investment. We will not sacrifice product quality for a cheaper price. We want you to buy a board and be able to use it, abuse it and not lose it. Si-Boards are made with quality materials and several unique features requiring lots of processes for production. We know the price tag seems high but once you get on your Si-Board you’ll know it is worth saving your pennies for.
5. Is that a giant super bouncy ball?
Almost a giant super bouncy ball… we have a solid urethane ball that resists warping,
deflating, bursting, and becoming ineffective. You will not be able to find a ball like ours. You can use any ball, but to truly ride you need a solid ball. We searched for three years to find a suitable ball to ride on. We found solid urethane to be the best product, in form and function, compared to other materials. We do not use air filled ball becuase they warp and break over time. Although the price for urethane is quite high- it provides the best ball for you.
6. Why is that “almost a giant super bouncy ball” so heavy?
Our weighted ball transfers your momentum with ease and makes your ride smooth. An un-weighted ball feels jerky and slows you down like speed bumps. The balls are solid urethane and with each increase in size there is an increase in weight. We don’t put a weight in the ball, it is just naturally heavy.
7. What’s with the Half-Ball?
These Half-Balls are awesome if you are doing injury rehab or want to slow down the sport skills. The board is more stable because the half ball will not roll on the floor- the board will rock or wobble on the Half-Ball. Try doing a pop-up on the Half-Balls before moving to two balls. The Half-Balls can also be used under your sport board- try one under your wakeboard and create your own indoor training.
8. How do you ship?
We normally ship ground for large items such as board and ball combos. Smaller items we ship priority mail. We can ship differently if you like. Unfortunately our shipping prices have increased due to gas prices and the size and weight of our product. Give us a call for international shipping or overseas.
9. Do you do custom colors or orders?
Yes, for a small fee and color availablilty we can customize the board base color or the color of the graphics. Give us a call for more information.
10. Is my information safe?
Yes, your info is safe with us. We will not sell, distribute, or give out your
information.
11. Do Si-Boards have a warranty?
Si-Boards are guaranteed against manufacturing defects and flaws. This does
not include minor dings and dents due to riding or damage caused by using the
board for anything other than its intended purpose. If your board or ball is
damaged due to manufacturing defects we will replace your board or ball for
free.
